Default Folding@Home, New Recruits?

Hey all,

With the release of the new nvidia folding program for the 8x/gt2x series, i thought i would bring up the topic again. ATi folding program has been out for awhile.

So anyone who has a new nvidia check out the link:
http://folding.stanford.edu/English/DownloadWinOther

For others who want to join, regardless if you have ati/nvidia, check out:
http://folding.stanford.edu/English/Download

For the people who have been hiding under a rock, or just dont know about folding at home look at hte below link.
http://folding.stanford.edu/
Basically its distributed computing for 'folding' proteins to investigate what happens (i guess )

Use the second link to see if you can get your username, and use team id 52361 to join our PCPP team!
http://fah-web.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/...&teamnum=52361 <<< Team Page Link

To regular peeps out there (dr_deathy mainly, our unofficial team leader ) i just got the new program so expect some more WU's from me!

Sangoma i see you have been active recently, keep it up!
Kagai/Keens, what happened? Just a couple of WU's from you guys since last thread back in 2007? CMON!

Anyway any new guys, who want to join have a look at the links provided.

Hope to see you guys on the team list soon.

EDIT:IN the words of Voort, for those who like stats.

I have no doubt this is part of the fallout of what happened at the [H] earlier in the year, 12million points lost.

Azza, this would be a good one to copy to the OP when you get the chance...

One thing i was rather impressed to see when I unpacked my new PS3 was the support for folding@home out of the box, thought i might unleash the beast and find out why DARPAs new supercomputer was made out of cell processors.

Of course not zafoga

Yeah deathy you should be able to add some nice points, i only get about 100point per WU for my 8800gts, but the folds only take about an hour.

I folded 10 overnight about 9hours, so got me close to ~1000points

Much more points that i would have with the old CPU program.

I was downloaded the program, now downloading the 177.35 drivers. How quick will an Ultra fold proteins or whatever it does?

The 177.35 drivers won't install - they say they don't detect any compatible hardware or something to that effect? What can I do?

Perhaps use the fluffing wizard that Nvidia provide to select most up to date drivers? http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

177.35 Driver support the following GPUs

GeForce GTX 280
GeForce GTX 260
nForce 780a SLI
nForce 750a SLI

I don't understand why people just go and download the latest when there is a pretty much perfect system In place to make sure you get whats right.
