Cant believe theres no thread on this yet, but my friends and I are all set for the 4 player co-op brilliance that is Borderlands. Coming out 25th of October 2009.

Kind of a cross between. Fallout and the much remised Hellgate London and well kinda nothing like either of them. Borderlands is set on the planet of pandora where settlers have moved to loot the planet but found no resources. What there is though scattered around the surface are alien artifacts... let the hunt begin!

Made by Gearbox (yay) Borderlands is a ton of co-op open world cell shaded fun with 4 playable chars. A ranger, mage, tank and soldier. And like the thread title tells you it employs a unique weapon creation system to the point that there are over a million different guns in this game. Literally. Including character created weapons and alien made weapons to boot.

Yes! it looks better then i expected and better then it once was.

always good to see more cell shaded-esque games.

I have been interested since I saw those screenshots with the fantastic art style.

Anyone willing to give me a quick summary on how this will work? So is it a bit like L4D with 4 players on their own in the world?

I'm really looking forward to this, hopefully the weapon system won't let us down too much though - but it's looking impressive.

This game looks incredible, the new trailer gives it real style, looks kind of like Tarantino did the direction. Although I think I'd get it on PS3 for the split screen, that would be killer fun.

I havnt been able to find out much about the gameplay

Except that its open world with 160 quests to complete.

RPG stats and stuff to collect like ammo you need.

Hopefully we will learn more soon.

Sounds a lot like Diablo transposed into an FPS.

I have been waiting for this for some time, the visuals look so beautiful.

650,000 weapons. 150,000 Alien weapons.

And a weapon manufacturing system that pushes it... yep maybe to a bazillion.

Funniest thing i've ever heard. The actual developers of the game being suprised at finding new weapons they've never seen before. LOL.

87 BAZILLION GUNS!

I sincerely hope that by 87 Bazillion guns, they don't mean an assault rifle with 163 different assortments of sniper scope. I'll save judgement until I've seen footage of weapon construction or whatever, they hinted at a workbench of some kind in the vid, but when I hear 'x number of weapons!' I get sus. Hopefully Gearbox can pull it off.

Loving the art too, it's good to see developers going out on a limb more these days, instead of the copius grey and brown we're accustomed to seeing.

They have basically a weapon generator which just generators different sorts of pieces - there is a video about is somewhere. I would find it but I'm capped, try YouTube'ing. The video was before the game had this cell shaded graphics.

I was going to start this thread.... this I say this in PCPP and did a search and didn't find anything.

All I can really say is YAY, looks awesome, has its own cool arty look and best trailer I have seen in a long time, humorous and awesome.

Ohh and the little drop dance is so cool.
