How to correctly backup a game

Steam:

Make sure the game is installed and "100% Ready."
Right-Click on the game you wish to backup.
Click Properties > Local Files > Backup Game Files.
Make sure the game is checked.
Click Next and choose the location you wish to save the backup.
The backup could take quite a while depending on how large the game is.

Other Digital Distribution services:
If you know how to make backups from other DD services, please let me know.

i was also thinking 500mbm i think steam does not accurately report game sizes though cause before steam there was a 100mb patch which included TFC, ricochet and all that stuff

So i'm trying to download Batman: Arkham Asylum but steam will only download about 60mb before going into suspended mode, requiring a restart of steam in order to get another 60mb. etc

So to get my 8gb will take a lifetime of afternoons after work.

If someone could send me a backup copy it would be much appreciated
