The big unknown is how long Unreal will hold the title, but for the moment, this is the Best Game Ever.

John Carmack must be having nightmares. It's been well over three years in the making and just when everyone thought it was vapourware, like all the other first-person shooters slated for release this year, Unreal has finally been released. Ladies and Gentleman, welcome to the next level in gaming...

When PCS aren't PC...

Have you ever felt the need to steal cars just for the hell of it? A desire to hijack a bus with the aim of blowing it up in the middle of a busy street? Of course we don’t want to do these things in the real world, (well most of us anyway) and Government officials please take note: Grand Theft Auto will not transform us from socially responsible gamers into criminals intent on such deviant activities. Although after playing GTA for a while, that Porsche parked around the corner from my house does look very inviting…

New Crysis Game Announced

My, that was fast...

Do we REALLY sound like this guy?
Crytek has announced the sequel to the eye-gougingly beautiful Crysis, and has said it is due to hit shelves sometime this spring.

The game, titled Crysis Warhead, tells the story of what it was exactly that Psycho did during his time on the island.

In Crysis Warhead, players will don the Nanosuit of Sergeant Sykes, also known as ‘Psycho’, one of the most memorable characters from Crysis.

More brash and aggressive than his Delta Force squadmate Nomad, players will experience Psycho’s parallel story during the events of the original game, finding that life on the other side of the island is even more intense and explosive than they ever could have imagined.

- Crytek website

The game shall also include the obligatory new weapons and vehicles, as well as some new multiplayer content.

At this stage, Crysis Warhead is to launch exclusively on the PC.

Bioshock 3 AND A Movie?!

by: This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it | source: GameSpot | thanks: Vague game announcements

When too much Bioshock is, apparently, not enough...

Who's your Daddy?
Take-Two has said that a Bioshock movie is more likely to coincide with an as yet unannounced Bioshock 3, rather than with Bioshock 2.

The publisher's chairman, Strauss Zelnick, made the statement following the company's second quarter financial report, which was bolstered heavily by sales of GTA IV.

"It's unlikely that the picture would be released to coincide with BioShock 2," said Zelnick. "It would be more likely that it would be released coincidentally with BioShock 3. That also remains to be seen."

- GameSpot

Of course, nothing has been said regarding the nature of the game, or when it could be released, other than the fact that Bioshock is "a very important franchise", and that "roughly an every-three-year [release] schedule would be optimal" for new instalments.

The current ETA for Bioshock 2 is during the 3rd quarter of 2009.

Puzzle fans get angry!

Is this worth fighting for?
Australian game developer, Infinite Interactive, has received death threats and a bomb threat after a glitch was discovered in Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords.

“The game studio is not accustomed to death threats, chief executive officer Steven Fawkner said this week at Capcom's Captivate 08 event in Las Vegas.

"One death threat in 25 years of game development," he said.

"Puzzle Quest comes out and I had six death threats and one bomb threat."

- News.com.au

Fawkner believes that only two were actually serious as most left their email addresses on their threats. Infinite Interactive didn’t report the threats to the police as most of the emails came from the US.
