$310 million in 24 hours

He has fingers...he does what he wants
Making millions wasn’t enough for Rockstar Games, so now they have a Guinness World Record to add to their collection.

Guinness World Records has confirmed that GTA IV is officially the highest ever entertainment earner after the first 24 hours of its release. The game generated $310 million, topping Halo 3.

“These records establish GTA IV as the most profitable entertainment release of all-time, far surpassing other video game, film and book releases.”

- Games Industry Wire

It seems that the attempts to ban the game have actually increased its sales worldwide. Nice work, Jack.

Strap yourself in for high octane action

Fuzzy dice not included
Following a two year hiatus since the original title, the Juiced series has once again returned to the gaming scene, intent on trading blows of arcade action with EA's perennial racing series: Need For Speed.

While the game won't hit retail shelves until next week, THQ is giving gamers the chance to sample Juiced 2: Hot Import Nights in the form of a single-player demo. The demo will allow players to play out three race goals from the campaign as well as sample a small selection of the cars included. Players will be able to take the Nissan 350Z, BMW M3, Saleen Mustang and - the traditional Aussie hoon car of choice - the Holden Monaro out for a spin.

So if you want to get your wheels spinning, head on over to the Internode Games Network and download the demo.
