For all those people who want to play 'chef', and maybe swear a bit to boot
Why yes. Yes I am, you ******* ****.
Gordon Ramsay, symbol for potty-mouthed TV personalities the world over, is now set to appear in his very own video game.
The game, imaginatively called Hell's Kitchen The Game, is apparently being published by Ubisoft on the Nintendo Wii and DS platforms, and is developed by Ludia. However, there is also a PC version available now.
Ben Taylor, project manager with game publisher Ubisoft, said the Australian version would have no audible swearing: "We got it this week and were playing it last night and it stays very true to the show."
"You are given certain tasks to perform making a certain recipe or dish and you'll be given hints and instructions, for example when to put things on the stove or take them off. All the while you've got Gordon Ramsay yelling at you, telling you to hurry up and `Move your a---' or basically telling you you're useless."
- The Courier-Mail
The game is reportedly not to be released until September on consoles, however there is a time limited trial for the PC available here. You can also pay for the complete, uncensored version, which presumably includes a few extra words from the English language.
Players wait on customers, prepare food, and are berated almost constantly by a 3D animated version of Ramsay.

What direction will this title take the acclaimed series?
 Follow the yellow brick road...
After much speculation, EA has officially announced that a new SimCity title is in the works, and it will indeed be titled SimCity Societies.
While many are excited over the prospect of a new SimCity release, others are quite sceptical, as it has been revealed that Maxis will not be working on the project. Instead, the torch has been passed onto Tilted Mill Entertainment -- creators of Caesar IV and Immortal Cities: Children of the Nile -- who will implement all-new features such as allowing players to create the cultures, societal behaviours and environments, as well as creating the city itself.
Players start by choosing from a variety of more than 350 building types, each of which allows them to combine, connect and re-arrange structures freely. Players can challenge authority and experiment with what happens when citizens flagrantly disobey power in an unruly Orwellian society. Or if players are feeling happy, they can build a Fun City filled with Ferris Wheels, Gingerbread Houses and Chocolate Factories! Inspiration can come from a wide range of architectural periods ranging from the realistic to the fanciful; from the industrial age to futuristic designs, with each structure reflecting its name and nature, many offering a click-on action for fans to play upon! As each city evolves, players will be able to unlock new buildings that can help advance – or regress – their society.
SimCity Societies introduces an all-new, revolutionary feature set for players to combine buildings that will produce or consume new kinds of resources called "social energies." How you mix and match these resources – industry, wealth, obedience, knowledge, devotion, or creativity—determines the social energy of your city. Will your city be happy and creative, spiritual and knowledgeable, will it be wealthy and powerful or obedient and fearful? Its fate is in your hands!
- Official Press Release
SimCity Societies is scheduled for release this November.

CVG says SimCity 5 is on the cards
More city life on your PC
CVG has news of a new SimCity on the horizon, with the next issue of their sister magazine - Games for Windows - containing an article on the next instalment of the beloved franchise.
While absolutely nothing is known about the game, it seems like US retailer Gamestop may have spilt the beans, as a product page is online at their website for a game called Sim City Societies. If the title proves to be correct, could this mean that there will be a larger focus on the little Sims that populate our virtual cities?
With the article to debut soon, the internet is sure to be abuzz with SimCity info in the coming weeks.

The Sims 2 to take a trip
"Like... what do I do with the marshmallow now?"
While being light on detail, EA has officially announced that the sixth expansion for its hit franchise - The Sims 2 - is in development.
While little is known about The Sims 2: Bon Voyage, it seems to follow in the vein of the Vacation expansion for the original Sims game. Bon Voyage will allow players to take their Sim families on a much needed vacation from the stresses of being locked away in a house with no doors, windows or toilet (you all know that you treat them badly!)
EA's official line:
Whisk your Sims away from their everyday routines and take them on exciting trips to three exotic locations! Whether relaxing on a lush tropical island in a luxury suite, camping outdoors on a pristine mountaintop, or exploring the culture of the Far East, your Sims will enjoy all-new activities to relax and rejuvenate them. Send your Sims packing for the trip of a lifetime!

Until more details surface, Sim fans will just have to camp out and wait.

You can be a rockstar with the click of a mouse
 "We want chilly willy!"
Positech's latest turn based-game, Kudos-Rock Legend, puts players into the hard rocking shoes of a member of a garage band. Will you become a rock legend or stay a rock loser?
Part simulation game, part RPG, KRL allows you to cover almost every aspect of being in a band. You'll spend your time juggling auditions, rehearsals, publicity events, songwriting and planning your next gig. The makers of KRL are well versed in this venture as one dev spent much of the 80s trying to get his big break in the music world.
The game's press release says it all:
The game is dedicated to musicians who made it the hard way, when bands were groups of friends who rehearsed in their parents garage, and who made it due to gritty determination rather than by record company spin. If you have ever been a gigging musician, you should give the game a try. If you haven't gigged yet, but you play an instrument, you should definitely give it a try!
