Memory cheats and lies, and we slip it a fiver to do it. Can anyone really back up the claim that games used to be better?Sure, you can have a dog of a year, but do people really think that, universally, game developers actually get more stupid? Have we all missed the lead pipes in our empire?

I refute said claims and have an entire entertainment system to help me do it.

You think it sucks that the C&C3 demo was bigger than a gigabyte and you had to wait four hours for it to download on your crappy broadband connection? Spare a thought for my freshman days. Spare a thought for shareware Quake.

While I have no official statistics to back the following statement the analytics department of my mind recently filed a report to my frontal lobe suggesting that 98.5% of the time it is a very satisfying feeling being right when someone acts against your best advice. I did have some difficulty believing that there was a 1.5% chance of that situation not being satisfying but I looked at it as nothing more than a statistical aberration, an error margin or some other funky sounding statistics word that I don't really know the meaning of. Anyway, the other day I found myself in such a situation where being right was no fun and it all relates to my recent foray into the land of Vista.
