Calling all rock star wannabes...and possibly musicians too

Following the success of the Guitar Hero franchise, Activision is branching out. To compete with MTV’s Rock Band , they’re adding drums, bass guitar and a microphone into the mix.

The new game, Guitar Hero World Tour, will allow two groups of 4 people to compete online, and compose and play their own music, according to Activision.

“The game will feature songs from bands such as Van Halen, The Eagles, Linkin Park and Sublime, with every song being an original master track, unlike past games where many of the songs were cover versions.”

Guitar Hero World Tour is due to be released this year, and will be the fourth installment in the Guitar Hero franchise for Wii.
