Crysis and the Orange Box. Need I say more?

There is a reason for that guy being on the cover. Yes, we've got a 5 page review of Crysis ready for your perusal. Is it worth the hype?..
Plus we cover all 3 titles in the Orange Box. 3 very different games, but did they all go down just as well?
We also have a look at the nature of digital distribution, and whether it is 'better' than getting your games off the shelves.
Plus, in tech, we compile a list of the ideal gifts to give to your nearest and dearest over the Christmas season. One thing's for sure, Intel's QX9650 Quad Core CPU would make one hell of a gift for a PC gamer.
For all the games, all the tech, and all the awesome, you can't go past PCPP#146.

That's right, you heard right, PCPP#146 Christmas 2007 is OUT on WEDNESDAY. That's November 14 for all you calendar-watchers.

What can you expect in this issue?

Crysis
First things first, there's our massive six-page feature review of Crysis. So many words! So much detail! Everything, deconstructed, examined, raked over, then blown up with a combination of explosive barrels and the best rocket launcher in the business. We also interview Cervat Yerli of Crytek and ask him why there aren't any squad commands in this otherwise awesome game.
Orange Box
You've played it, you've formed your own opinions, now find out why this release is so important from the experts. Detailed reviews and critiques of these dominant games - Episode 2, TeamFortress 2 and of course Portal.

Expansion Special
We review expansions for Company of Heroes, Neverwinter Nights 2 and Age of Empires 3. Find out which is the best!

Download Your Games
With Orange Box available on Steam and other retail outlets popping up, we thought it was high time we took a closer look down the tubes. Also, what ever happened to that Triton download thing for Prey?

Intel QX9650
Why is this quad-core CPU so important? Lindsay gives you all the details, while dropping hints about our massive 8800 GT roundup next issue!

PC PowerBox
Think having a water-cooled, 8800 Ultra powered PC means also have a 20kg full tower case? Lindsay shows you how to pack a LOT of power into a tiny, tiny space.

Soldier of Fortune: Payback
Share in our outrage at hearing of its banning by the OFLC, then realise it was only going to be a budget release anyway...
On The Disc
Let's see now, what do we have to offer on this disc? Oh yeah, the ALL NEW Community Bunker. It's a massive effort full of awesome content and all we can say is the next Bunker is even better!

Aside from the Bunker, there's the Unreal Tournament 3 demo, FEAR Perseus Mandate, Call of Duty 4 and Jericho. Flip the disc and you get Timeshift, Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 and Age of Empires 3: Asian Dynasties.

Plus, we've also trawled the tubes for those classic DOS games that have been officially released as freeware, and bundled them with DOSBox into a 16-game collection of classics. We find the legal ones so you don't have to!

So the only question that remains is this: can you get through all this content before PCPP#147 hits stands December 12?
