 Diablo III Announced Sat, 28 June 2008 Diablo gets another sequel, and a 3D facelift
 The generic busted bridge has never looked so good The announcement, made at the Blizzard Worldwide Invitational in Paris, was accompanied by a cinematic trailer as well as a demonstration of the gameplay.
"We've wanted to expand on the epic story and gameplay elements of the Diablo universe for some time now," stated Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. "We know that players have also been long awaiting a return to the series, so we're very excited to be sharing this announcement with Blizzard gamers here in Paris and around the world today."
The game will include 5 different character classes, including the barbarian and witch doctor. Players will set out to explore old and new locations in Sanctuary, all wrapped together by a brand new 3D engine.
Diablo III will pick up the story twenty years after the events of Diablo II. Mephisto, Diablo, and Baal have been defeated, but the Worldstone, which once shielded the inhabitants of the world of Sanctuary from the forces of both the High Heavens and the Burning Hells, has been destroyed, and evil once again stirs in Tristram. - Blizzard While it has been announced that the game will feature on both PCs and Macs, and will also make use of Blizzard's own Battle.net, there has been no indication as to an expected release date.
