'Far Cry 3 already in planning stages'; Ubisoft Thurs, 28 August 2008 Third installment of Far Cry franchise in the works; possible Antarctic setting
![]() Far Cry 3: Where no-one can hear you freeze Narrative Designer Patrick Redding, from Ubisoft Montreal, said that a locale for the third game hasn't been locked in, but that a return to Africa is a distinct possibility.
"For us, Africa still has a huge amount of promise," Redding told the Web site. "There are still things we want to do with the African setting, and I think it's safe to say we'll continue to explore it." A return to Africa isn't a lock however, as Redding also noted that "we might find something new and compelling about the Antarctic setting that wants us to make the next game there."
While Far Cry 3 has obviously not been given an expected release date yet, the upcoming Far Cry 2 is due within the next couple of months.
