It's time for me to come out of the closet on a few things. I own a plastic lightsaber. I have an unhealthy addiction to Cheese & Bacon Shapes.

And I've never played Planescape: Torment.
Let me clarify that. I've installed it, I've looked at the main menu, I've wandered around the mortuary at the beginning... and that's pretty much it.

It's one of the most revered and influential games in history. And I've barely given it the time of day.

Shocked? Offended? Angry? Get in line. As soon as I confessed my sin on the forums, the claws were out. Leper outcast unclean! Hey, I knew as much as the next guy that my ignorance was inexcusable, so it was there that I made a promise, one that I'll repeat here to cement my resolve:

"Before the year is out, I will give Planescape: Torment an actual-factual red hot go. I shall sit down, and I shall play it. I'll really try."

There. I can't un-write it. I'm gonna play this game. And you're my witness.

But surely I'm not the only one with a not-so-secret shame. Surely there a history-defining game out there that you know deserves your attention, but for whatever reason you're yet to play. What is it? I won't tell. It'll just be between you, me, and the blog.

By the way, if you see me on MSN or Xfire, feel free to hassle me. Keep me on the wagon. It's like Step Four of the PDA (Planescape Deprived Anonymous) handbook. So I'm told.
