Empire Interactive has released a beta patch for the European version of FlatOut 2, taking it to version 1.1. The patch addresses numerous crash bugs and adds some new features like voice chat.

The European patch should work with copies bought in Australia, but if you happen to have a US version you'll need to wait for the official patch. Because it's a beta, it's not officially supported by Empire or developer Bugbear, so it's a "use at your own risk" deal.

The final patch should be out soon, but if you have any pressing problems the 15 MB beta can be downloaded from Empire or 3D Gamers.
