Praise be to portable gaming. A very short blog today. Tomorrow I leave for New York City for a week and a half to participate in some marketing seminars (non-games related alas). The crazed lead up to being out of the office for such a time is the reason my blogs have been so sporadic of late and for that I apologise. When I am back you can expect to see them back to their regular daily (assuming you don't count weekends) roll out.
A week and a half in a foreign country. A week and a half with no access to a computer, the internet (I have no plans to visit any net cafes if I can help it) or any of my games consoles. While it will be a nice change the idea of being without any form of gaming does annoy me some. Like you folks reading this blog, I like games and quite frankly being forced to watch TV on those rare nights when I will be back in my apartment early enough to just engage in some me time does rankle some.

So I shall repeat my refrain. Praise be to portable gaming. For the geek on the go the existence of mobile-phone games, handheld consoles such as the PSP or Nintendo DS is truly a blessing. My flight along is somewhere in the vicinity of 12 hours and I can guarantee that I will have completed Advance Wars DS by that time, or have finally hit the 999,999 score in Lumines. I don't have a laptop which is upsetting me considering my recent addiction to Uplink but the fact remains that in today's modern age I can game wherever I want.

Praise be to portable gaming.

See you again in a week and a half.
