Another EVE milestone Thu, 7 September Thirty-thousand simultaneous users
![]() Swirly-thing alert! EVE-Online, the space-faring MMORPG which showed us just how "big, really big" space can be, has celebrated yet another milestone this week:
There was much to celebrate at the CCP office in Reykjavik today. In addition to the birthdays of CEO Hellmar's daughter who turned three and producer Oveur, who turned "thirty something," shouts of joy rose up at
19:36 GMT as 30,538 EVE Online capsuleers zoomed their way into history by setting a new concurrent user record of over thirty-thousand simultaneous users on the Tranquility server.
- EVE News A quick glance at the graphs and pie-charts over at MMORPGchart shows that, while most subscription levels have fluctuated considerably in the wake of World of Warcraft, EVE-Online's player base has continued to rise steadily. With only 1% of the subscription-based market, this week's milestone has shown that CCP's practice of hosting an entire galaxy on a single server is paying off in a big way.
