PCPP: How many vehicles are you aiming to include with Flight Sim X?
SF: Flight Simulator X will provide both a wide variety and increased density of AI vehicles These include cars, trucks, pleasure boats, commercial boats, and ferries. A big investment in additional roads and highways means players will be able to see local and highway traffic day and night! The volume of vehicle/vessel traffic displayed will be determined by the size and power of the individual PC. PCPP: What are some of aircraft that you think will really impress people with this one? SF: This time around we have been able to add a greater context to the aircraft by virtue of their roles in the different missions as well as classic free flight. Flight Simulator X will enable pilots to fly the aircraft of their dreams, such as the DeHavilland DHC-2 Beaver floatplane or the AirCreation 582SL Ultralight. New on the commercial side, we are including the Boeing 737-800NG, the Bombardier CRJ-700, and introducing for the very first time – the Airbus A321. For the General Aviation community, we are introducing the Garmin G1000 electronic/glass cockpit. Users with the Deluxe edition will get to fly the G1000 in the new Cessna 172, the Beech Baron, and the Mooney Bravo. For actual pilots, student pilots, and anyone that follows the evolution of general aviation, Flight Simulator X will provide a fun and safe platform to explore this new technology and gain awareness of its operation. PCPP: How have you updated the avionics and flight controls? SF: The big update to the avionics is of course the availability of the Garmin G1000 as mentioned above. This will be the first real all glass cockpit for a general aviation aircraft provided by Microsoft. We have also updated the cockpit for the Boeing 737-800 and introduced the Airbus A321 for added variation. Flight Simulator X will also include more ways for a wider variety of users to operate the different aircraft based upon their PCs and personal preferences. Flight Simulator X will offer the following ways to "drive" your favourite aircraft: · Keyboard · Mouse as yoke · Joystick or yoke device · Windows 360 controller |
