PC version finally nears release

That's one steep hill
The long-delayed PC version of Atari's long-delayed Test Drive Unlimited has gone gold, after being available on Xbox 360 since last September. Here's word on the PC differences, which are mostly related to graphics and peripherals:

Developed by Eden Studios, the team behind the Xbox 360 version, Test Drive Unlimited for PC features 90 incredible cars and bikes from some of the world's most desirable brands including Ferrari, Maserati, Ducati, and many more. Requiring no monthly subscription to play, the game takes advantage of cutting-edge PC hardware, allowing it to be played in extremely high resolution that take Test Drive Unlimited's visuals to a new level. Enhancements include TrackIR(TM) support, improved effects, steering wheel support and simplified matchmaking.

The game is due in stores on 20 March in the US, and 30 March in Australia. It's also available as a download on Atari's US website now, a couple of weeks before its retail store release.
