Next Splinter Cell Revealed Fri, 4 March 2007 Sam's on the wrong side of the law... again
![]() Even tanks enjoy a stroll in the park Sam Fisher once again joins up with the Third Echelon group in an attempt to help out an old friend in danger. This time around Sam has thrown the old nightvision goggles away, with the Magaza Pelaaja cover story stating that the game is taking a Metal Gear Solid approach as a vast amount of the title will take place in the daylight hours. The cover story also offers some tantalising snippets on the game's intriguing backstory:
At the beginning of the game, Sam learns that Anna Grimsdottir (Anna is the person in charge of intelligence gathering for Third Echelon, and an old friend of Sam's) is in danger so Sam joins up with Third Echelon once more in order to help. Unfortunately, 3E is not what it used to be, and Sam frequently gets incomplete and bad intel, as well as the wrong equipment. All this, and the 3E bosses are in the middle of a political squabble for control. Sam eventually finds out that the threat is actually coming from inside Third Echelon itself, so he leaves and basically becomes a fuigitive. Looks like Sam is on the wrong side of the law once more, this time for real.
Gamers Reports While it has only been announced for the Xbox360, it's a fairly safe bet that Sam's next adventure will see daylight on a PC near you.
