Rise of the Lich King!

November comes but once a year and this year we experience a little of that Northern Hemisphere weather with the Wrath of the Lich King. He's back, and so is PCPP veteran Anthony Fordham as editor. And if that wasn't enough, we look at why Bioshock sucks, give you the demo on the DVD, and check out the future of hard drives - flash isn't just for iPod you know. More after the break!

Frigid Reception
You know World of Warcraft, you love World of Warcraft, but are you ready for the new expansion? Wrath of the Lich King has been announced and we break the ice with Blizzard to give you the details. Plus Darren busts out his spectacles of Research +2 and pulls together an awesome World of World of Warcraft map. You wants stats? You want anecdotes? You got 'em. Oh by the way, at the end of the article we mention Wrath of the Lich King is coming out late this year. That's wrong, ignore it. Wishful thinking, really. :(

Bioshock Sucks!
It was supposed to be the best game ever. Hell, we even gave it 10/10. But even before it hit store shelves, Bioshock was in trouble. We take a look at the great controversy and what it says about gamers.

Mark of Kane
C&C games really shine after the release of their expansion packs. So the C&C3 expansion pack is something that has us positively drooling with anticipation. We take a first look in preparation for our major feature in PCPP#145. Includes the interview that nearly got Darren killed.

Lost: A Translation
From baffling TV show to probably equally baffling game. Will lost work? Or disappear up its own fundamental conceptual flaws?

Ultimate Clean Slate
Tabula Rasa could catapult Richard Garriot back to the top of the game developing pops. A hard SF MMO with new ways to play, or Anarchy Online with fewer bugs? Our preview sheds the first rays of light...

Red Sky at Night
World in Conflict could be the best thing that's happened to the PC military strategy simulator since, well, ever. Real tanks, frenetic gameplay, what's not to love? We take four pages to answer that very important question.

Lord of the Files
Flash-based solid-state hard drives are the future. The only question is when? We examine this emerging technology: what it does right, what's holding it back. Plus, see how big a 5MB hard drive really was back in the 1950s. And forum regulars will find themselves in the company of a familiar face during this feature...

On the Outside Now
Along with solid-state hard drives, external graphics processing units are the future too. At least for mobile gaming, anyway. But something is holding this promising technology back. Find out what!

Live by the Sword?
The Thermaltake SwordM is a case worth $700. How can this be? Lindsay goes to town with a set of screwdrivers to find out.
