Clive Barker's thriller too violent for the USK

Nein
You might have already tried the demo of Clive Barker's Jericho, but spare a thought for your German Brüder und Schwestern. Codemasters' horror title has been denied a rating by the Unterhaltungssoftware Selbstkontrolle, the German classification board, which was not impressed by the game's mature content.

The rating denial means the game can't be sold to minors or advertised, and because Microsoft and Sony won't publish games without a rating, the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions will not make it to Germany.

But that's good enough for Codemasters, which has vowed to release the unedited PC version and accept the fate of the console ones.

"Codemasters respects Mr Barker's creative ideas, despite the German distribution and marketing consequences for the title.

"Therefore Codemasters will release only the PC version of Clive Barker's Jericho in its original form for adult gamers and Clive Barker fans," confirmed the company.

In Australia, the OFLC has rated Jericho MA15+ for "strong horror violence" and "coarse language".
