Okay, it borrows a lot - but the game still looks kinda cute.
Developed by Berlin indie studio Ion Lands, Phoning Home puts you in control super-cute robot Ion as it explores an alien planet - that he's just crash-landed on. And then you meet even super-cuter Ani, and you can explore the open world of a mysterious alien planet, and unravel its many mysteries.
"Phoning Home's enormous open-world is full of surprises and provides players a true sense of adventure," said Marko Dieckmann, founder, ION LANDS, in today's announcement. "This combination of exploration and survival games will keep gamers on their toes as they embark on a journey like none other."
There's giant monsters, challenging environments, and the challenge of finding out just why you crashed in the first place.
Phoning Home (nope, not an ET reference at all) will be available on Steam on February 7.
