Facebook has launched its Gaming Creator Pilot Program designed to help streamers connect with communities via the social media platform.
Facebook says it's been working with "creators" for the past year to fine tune the program. As a result of this research, the program will focus on four key areas, according to the announcement post:
1. Helping gaming creators build more meaningful and more engaged communities on Facebook than anywhere else
2. Increasing discovery and distribution across multiple surfaces, including Facebook.com, Instagram and Oculus
3. Supporting gaming creators with the types of tools they need to make a living streaming games on Facebook
4. Building a platform where creators at every level have the opportunity to thrive
The post adds goals like building architecture to enable all "creators" to stream at 1080p/60fps and supporting monetisation initiatives.
