Hey gang, big news for PC PowerPlay! We're moving! Here's the official word:
"Future Publishing Australia (part of Future plc, the global specialist media group), today announces the acquisition of well-known technology brands PC PowerPlay, Hyper and PC & Tech Authority from nextmedia. The acquisition of these titles will include the magazine portfolios, digital editions, Upgrade events
and Australian PC Awards.
This acquisition will further expand Future’s existing tech and gaming portfolio, which includes leading Australian print and online brands APC, TechLife, TechRadar and PC Gamer.
PC PowerPlay and Hyper are two of Australia’s longest-running gaming magazines. Both have passionate and loyal audiences that span all aspects of computer gaming from specialist components and hardware to mainstream console gaming."
Like I said, big news, and it means Future now has a massive stable of excellent gaming properties - but what does this mean for PC PowerPlay?
We'll still be publishing our print edition, so very little changes on that front, and I'm still in the Editor's seat. In the online arena, PC PowerPlay will be folding into the excellent PC Gamer website — so please jump over there and join us for all your day-to-day PC gaming needs.
Otherwise, while the office has changed, it's business as usual for Australia's best and oldest PC gaming magazine.
See you next issue!
