Night in the Woods and Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy headline this year's finalists in the Independent Games Festival awards.
Both games are nominated for the festival's Grand Prize where they are joined by West of Loathing, Heat Signature, Into the Breach and Baba Is You.
In addition, Night in the Woods is up for Excellence in Narrative and Excellence in Design while Getting Over It is under consideration for Excellence in Design and the Nuovo Award for innovation.
Now in its 20th year, the IGF Awards will be hosted by Trent Kusters, co-founder of Melbourne-based studio League of Geeks best known for the acclaimed Armello. The ceremony takes place on March 21 in San Francisco as part of GDC.
Other than Bennett Foddy, the other notable Australian developer to be recognised this year is Adelaide's Team Cherry. Their Dark Souls inspired platformer Hollow Knight received honourable mentions in the categories of Excellence in Visual Art, Excellence in Audio, and the Seumas McNally Grand Prize.
